The American Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma) stayed stuck to the wheel of his team leader, Primoz Roglic. Their combined effort was enough to keep him in the leader's Red Jersey for at least another day. The Jumbo duo was aided by Alexander Vlasov (Bora-Hansgrohe) and Enric Mas (Movistar) who were riding to hold there positions in the general classification as Vingegaard stormed up the climb.
