As they came around the final corner, Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) was able to get around Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quck Step) and stay there to claim stage honors. Behind that pair was Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) wearing the White Jersey on loan from the now erstwhile race leader. I think with his third place on the day, he will now be wearing it on his own accord. While it was Roglic winning the stage, and Vingegaard in fourth, it was their teammate Sepp Kuss who will start stage 9 in the Red Jersey of the new leader of the Vuelta.
