Breaking the Peloton Apart V23-15
With 80 kilometers to race, the crosswinds got into the peloton. Ever attentive, Jumbo-Visma and Soudal-Quick Step saw the chance to blow the peloton apart. Sepp Kuss in the Red Jersey of race leader was more than willing to drive the pace at the front along with Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step) Alexandr Vlasov (Bora-Hansgrohe), a rider from Bahrain-Victorious as well as others from these four teams. They split the race up into about four separate echelons, however since none of the main GC contenders had been caught out, the race came back together once they got into the more mountainous kilometers of the stage.
