It was a little strange to see the Jumbo-Visma duo of Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic chasing the break away that was lead by one of their own teammates, but then they had dropped the Red Jersey and needed to gain time on their other rivals. At this point Enric Mas (Movistar) was able to hang onto the duo's wheels, but they dropped him by the summit that marked the end of stage 6.
