Counter Balance

Stage four included two climbs and that means two different descents. Here a rider for Team Columbia is storming down the mountain all alone at the head of the race. A racer will twist out his leg on the inside of a sharper turn. This serves two functions; one by putting the leg out it changes the center of gravity allowing the rider to corner at higher speeds while still maintaining control, and two, the leg functions like a sail slowing the rider on that side again helping him to corner that much more quickly. And let's face it, it is just plan fun to do.
