Leading the Race G17-100
As the climb leveled out with just over a half of a kilometer left to race, it was the Maglia Rosa of Tom Dumoulin (Team Sunweb) who lead the race on the road and on the general classification, who brought them home. Tucked onto the Dutchman's wheel was the improving Ilnur Zakarin (Katusha-Alpecin) followed by the captured Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Mikel Landa (Sky). Dumoulin went on to win the stage, increasing his lead on everyone. He finished 13 seconds ahead of Quintana and got a 10 second time bonus to boot. It is beginning to look like he will be unbeatable in this the 100th Giro d'Italia. And Italy is still looking for the first Italian to take a stage.
