That Didn't Work G17-13
Nathan Haas (Dimension Data) jumped free of the peloton on the descent off of the Genna Silana. He was joined by Davide Martinelli (Quickstep). Unfortunately for Haas, Martinelli was there more as a break away killer than a fellow opportunist. He was more interested in making sure that Haas didn't succeed than pushing on together. Haas looked over his shoulder and was disappointed to see the peloton closing in, despite all of his efforts to get Martinelli to work with him.
