Finally, these three were allowed to flee the peloton. But they weren't given much of a leash, never gaining more than two minutes on the attentive peloton behind. The stage was very flat now, but you and the trio of Natnael Berhane (Dimension Data), Sergey Lagutin (Gazprom-Rusvelo) and Daniel Martinez (Wilier-Triestina) can see the mountians on the horizon. As describe the announcers at the start of the broadcast, the stage look like a hockey stick on its edge, the blade sticking up in the air. At that is what the stage will be, a climb up the blade into the thin air of a mountian top finish.
