Rubbing Shoulders TdF22-97

I'm not sure there was any reason for Alberto Dainese (DSM) to vie for the intermediate sprint, but that is exactly what he did. Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) has all but won this competition so he really didn't expect anyone to contest the sprint. That may have been why Dainese was able to beat the Maillot Vert to the line in Lavelanet. After the sprint Van Aert rode up next to the Team DSM sprinter and kind of rubbed him into the gutter. I honestly don't think he was trying to endanger him, but it could have been a warning not to do that again. The two were seen having a laugh not long after this.
