By Two Minutes! PN22-25

Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates) had ridden so hard that he had just shy of two minutes on the next two guys on the road, Frank Bonnamour (B&B Hotels-KTM) and the other American still in Paris Nice, Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar). The effort by McNulty moved him up 66 spaces on the general classification leaving everyone to wonder what would have had happened had he not lost so much time due to crashes and the crosswinds at the beginning of Paris Nice. The fun moment during the end of the race commentary on Peacock TV was when the graphic of American stage winners in the history of Paris Nice popped up on the screen. The last American stage winner, way back in 2009 was Christian Vandevelde, one of the two covering the race on air. It didn't sound like he nor Bob Roll was expecting that statistic. It should be noted that while Jorgenson didn't catch McNulty he is the new Maillot Blanc of the best place rider under 23 in this Paris Nice. Chapeau to both American riders that are still in the race.
