He Knew It Was His PN22-14
It must be an incredible feeling to look at a stage and be convinced that it is your stage to win, and then go out and win it. As an artist, I never trust the feeling that the painting I am starting is going to be great. But then I always know that I can do better. That doesn't mean that every painting is a failure, it actually means they are all successes because each one teaches me how to do better. Meanwhile, back at this painting. The two kilometer rise to the line certainly played to Mads Pedersen's (Trek Segafredo) strengths. More surprising to me is that Bryan Coquard (Cofidis) was a close run second, and/or that Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) couldn't out sprint him. After all, WVA has won the sprint on the Champs Elysees and a mountain top finish on Mont Ventoux, this should have been well in his wheelhouse.
