Looking for Home TDF19-43
Thomas De Gendt (Lotto Soudal) had led from the very first kilometer of this 200 kilometer stage into Saint Etienne. With just two left to go it looked like he had enough of a lead on the chasing Frenchmen to lead it from start to finish. He did. So you see, the break away does win on the rare occasion. I am quite sure he will wear the red bib number of most combative. And he moved himself into second place behind his teammate in the Maillot a Pois competition. Not a bad day's work.
