Off On His Own
The breakaway of the day is usually a small group, the 102nd Tour seems to prefer breaks of four riders, but today it was just Pierre-Luc Perichon (Bretagne-Seche) who left the peloton behind. It was a tall order for a single rider to hold of the might of the rest of those remaining in the Tour de France of almost 190 kilometers. I am sure that Perichon would have preferred company to share the work load and relieve some of the potential boredom, however after putting in the massive effort to get away from the others there is nothing left for it put to press on whether anyone joins the effort or not.
