Kai Kazmirek (Germany) used the power of centrifugal force and momentum to launch his shot put across the infield of the Olympic stadium. Kazmirek is one of a huge field of athletes competing in the Men's Decathlon. The Shot Put is the third of ten events, and the third event of the first day of competition. Kazmirek went on to finish fourth after the first day of events.
