I apologize for the title, but I couldn't resist. I mean when am I going to get the chance again? On the first climb of the day, the Montee de la Selle du Fromentel, Simon Geschke (CCC) started the aggression out of the early eight man break. Quickly on to the bearded German's wheel was Pierre Rolland (B&B Hotels-Vital Concept). The duo was distancing the former Spanish Champion, Jesus Herrada (Cofidis), thus the title. Behind this trio, others were trying to find their legs, some did, some did not.
