The Ascension of Jesus
After five years of trying to figure out how to depict this moment in Christian history, I discovered the ideas behind this painting while serving as a Visiting Artist to the American Academy in Rome. It was the amazing frescoes in the Cheisa Il Gesu that helped me to find the visual vocabulary to create this painting
